During this time of Thanksgiving, we here at Rockbrook wanted to take a moment and share some of the things that we are thankful for. Camp life reminds us to be thankful for the simple gifts and joys that surround us everyday and make life so special. Here are some of our highlights: the sound of gravel crunching as we walk down the line, a warm muffin, the chill of the camp lake, a homeade s’more roasted over a campfire, listening to a friend share a joke, a warm camp bed on a chilly morning, singing at the top of your lungs, that first bite of Dolly’s ice cream, a sunny afternoon on the hill, laughing during evening program over a funny skit and the sweet smell of camp after the rain. Thank you Rockbrook for all of your gifts! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Camping in the Mountains
Check out this great page from a 1941 Rockbrook Catalog. Campers had the opportunity to go on lots of different adventures including overnight camping trips. Camping trips now follow the principles of Leave No Trace, but back in the 1940’s you can see that the camp outs were quite elaborate. Don’t you know those S’mores tasted delicious?!
