Rock climbing has become perhaps the most popular outdoor adventure activity at Rockbrook. With our Alpine Climbing Tower and climbing wall in the gym, girls of all ages can try climbing, learn the basics and improve their skills quite easily. Just about everyone at camp gets involved in this activity.
Rockbrook is also fortunate to have excellent rock climbing on its property just a short hike from the center of camp. Castle Rock offers some really great climbing. We’ve developed 6 different routes on the rock⦠a zig-zaging hand crack, a challenging short finger crack, an exposed face route, and an interesting dihedral feature.
The Pisgah National Forest also provides great rock climbing spots where girls can try even more challenging routes. This area of North Carolina is well known around the country for its rock climbing opportunities, and our campers have the chance to enjoy it too.
Rockbrook’s activities in the Pisgah National Forest are authorized under a USDA Forest Service permit.
