Let’s say you love horseback riding, and you spent just about everyday at the Rockbrook Stables when you were at camp this summer. Certifiably “horse crazy” —that’s you! OK, but now that you’re back at home and not riding as much (if at all), what can you do to keep up with what you learned over the summer? Horseback riding at Rockbrook is great, but what can you do now that you’re back at school?
One thing you can do is watch the instructional horseback riding videos over on www.videojug.com. There are several really cool short videos about English horse riding with titles like How to Improve Your Classical Seat, How to Canter, and How to Tack a Horse. Several were filmed at Wimbleton Village Stables in London, and are very well done. Click on over and have a look at a few of these videos. You’ll really enjoy it!

I know how to walk, jog, and lope, but I ride western? I saw some pics of girls riding and they were all riding English! Also can I learn to jump?
i love riding horses i don’t have a horse but my neighbors do and i really would like to come to this camp but i don’t think i will be able to afford it is there something i can do about that?i already know how to ride but i can’t ride anymore because my parents have recently gotten into a fight with my neighbors so i don’t know i just hate to see me riding horses be gone forever
I’m saving up for a whole year to go to this camp!!! it is going to be SOOOOO fun!
if i have a horse from home and want to board her while at camp, can i do that and if yes how much would that be
Hi Mary Clare!
We get this question quite a lot, but we are really not able to have girls bring their own horses to camp. We just don’t have room! Both barns are completely full every summer so we can have enough horses for all of the campers. Sorry about that.
awww. well thanks anyways
wow this is so me but i dont go to that stable but i llllllllloooooooovvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeee horses.
i love riding i rode when i was little and i want to learn more about horsemanship and how to jump me and are friends want to learn all new thing about to ride and just have fun.
it depends on which line you are i think. because when i was a jr. i could only walk and when i became a mid. i was allowed to trot.
It doesn’t depend on your age (or your line). You can do more advanced horseback riding if you have the skills and are ready. The instructors are great at helping you improve no matter what level you are.
i see a lot of english i ride english and westren and i started riding when i was 3 im a getting to be advanced ridder but still want to learn how to jump im only 12. can u people teach me how to jump ?
Hi Brooke,\n\nYes, we do teach girls how to jump in our horseback riding program. Take a look!\n\nhttps://old.rockbrookcamp.com/blog/equestrian-camp-kids.html
Hi Jeff its rebecca wills. I was wondering people asked me this a lot but with riding will you learn something new every year?
Sure thing! The riding staff is very good at figuring out your current skills and teaching you ways to improve your riding. There’s always more to learn… and new horses to ride too!
